Good Boy Gone Best centers on Mr. Phát, Mrs. Diệp, and their only son, Phú Quý. Determined to raise their child according to their own ideals, Phát and Diệp create a deliberately confusing life where wealth and poverty, truth and deception, constantly blur together.
